Description | Laser scanning cytometer |
The LSC is a microscope-based instrument alloying advantages of a flow cytometer and a microscope. It is the only instrument of its kind in Hungary. It solves the problem of imaging microscopy: "which few cells to study out of the many different ones", and provides morphological information on large populations. 3 lasers (405, 488, 633 nm), 5 detectors. Olympus IX71 inverted fluorescence microscope with motorized stage, 10 to 60X objectives, high resolution camera and custom control and analysis software. Data for each cell include coordinates, time of measurement, area, perimeter, total fluorescence, max. pixel intensity, light scatter and further derived parameters. Software allows measurement of cells before and after treatment and relocalization of cells.
