The instrument can be used for measuring light scatter and fluorescence parameters of individual cells and sorting cells. The instrument is equipped with "DiVa" electronics allowing 18-bit resolution and online calculation of complex logical sorting gates. Lasers: 350, 488, 532, 633 nm; 7 fluorescence detectors, forward scatter and side scatter detectors. Polarizers allow fluorescence anisotropy detection. In addition to traditional fluorescence intenstity measurements (detection of protein expression, immune phenotyping, viability) the instrument can be used for determining Förster resonance energy transfer - FRET as well.software for FRET calculations.
