About the facility
The RI possesses a set of research equipments that enables high resolution and accurate fluorescent labeling and investigation of cells, subcellular organelles and molecules that play important roles in the structure and function of various organs and tissues. The investigated cells, organelles and molecules can be studied with a wide range of qualitative and quantitative experimental methods. The RI is capable to measure intracellular ion-concentrations with a high time and space resolution. The following additional large research equipments are available in the RI: tissue preparation and fixation system, patch clamp setup.
Acceptance of a project: Personal communication in advance with the leader of the contact persons of the research facility. Preliminary research plan and feasibility study. The list of the necessary equipments, chemicals, research tools and preparations should be given in advance. At least 1 peer reviewed research paper on the field of the task of the planned work. - In case of scientific collaboration the usage of the equipment is free of charge. Otherwise see attached table of prices. - For external user the lab gives the expert teach the usage of the equipment. The minimal stuff is an expert with PhD degree and an assistant. In post processing of the data the hardware, software and the stuff is given. - Data backup on high capacity external drives and on DVDs are available.
All users (national or international) have equal opportunities of access. Access is granted after evaluation of the proposed scientific project by the managing personnel of the selected laboratory. Selection is based solely on the scientific quality of the project and the feasibility of its realization within the available time frame (maximal time frame is regulated by the individual laboratories). Initial inquiries and applications should be sent to the contact persons of the laboratories.
